I’m speechless. I really am. In word and in type. This was TRULY a magical event, and I feel so privileged to have been part of the crowd. It is certainly something I will be telling the grandkids about (when I have them, as I am only 19) because it really did leave me speechless. It was magical, awe-inspiring and truly breath-taking. The people operating La Princess really do have my thanks, and everybody on the ground, the people behind the scenes who we didn’t see, the musicians, stewards, police and everybody else involved. I have even gone to the lengths to set up a facebook group as a petition to bring La Princess home to Liverpool. Whether this will work or not im not sure, but it will certainly be a homage to how successful and popular this event was. Thank you again.

At first I was amazed - you were so big and so beautiful. Then I was scared as you got closer. You were enormous and you nearly stood on me as you passed me. Then I was sad when you climbed the tower and went to sleep - and we had to go home. That was on Saturday - today is Monday and I am still smiling thinking about you. Thank you - its the best thing i have ever seen.

What a wonderful experience, some say our princess wasn’t as endearing as the sultan’s elephant, but I say la princess oozed grace and was truly awe inspiring.

For me, part of the magic was waiting around with strangers, our children playing together and talking about each others schools, playing ‘tick’ on church street with a gang of kids (and loads of adults looking on bemused). This wasn’t just street theatre, it was a group experience.

Each time I was lucky enough to experience part of the event, everyone was over the moon, seeing the smiles on peoples faces, and hearing everyone around saying things like “wow”, “that’s amazing” <adopts thick scouse accent> “it’s MASSIVE”

I feel truly priveledged, my mum’s just been round at ours and watching her and my kids excitedly regalling each other with their princess experiences, was brilliant. Just a shame the spider had to go, but la machine have left a web of wonder across those that witnessed this city centre b-movie.

Many thanks to Liverpool08, Artichoke and LaMachine for making Liverpool and it’s spectacular architecture the backdrop for the world’s news over the last 4 days!

Outstanding, the best event of 2008. Well done to all. My son was in tears because he “ did’nt want the spider to go “. One event had the city talking about, everyone stopped to look, listen and in somecase get wet ! Whats next....... hard act to follow.

La Princess, her whole story and the way it was told was truly incredible, I was in awe all weekend, probably the only spider I’ll ever love and miss!!! Well done to all the geniuses behind it and thank you for bringing such a magnificent show to Liverpool… come back again :-D !!!

Truely incredible! My son and I have had the best weekend. From watching La Princesse wake at the Echo Arena to waving her a sad farewell at the tunnel last night. It was an unforgettable weekend exploring Liverpool with her. I had to leave with my five year old before the ovations last night and feel quite sad about that so will insert my “WOOOOOOOOOOOOOSSS and YAAAAAAYYYYYYYYYYYYYYSSSSSSS” here. Thank you and congratulations to everyone involved. The whole experience was fantastic, inspiring and just completely magical. I saw countless adults in tears (of happiness) and I myself am feeling very emotional. La Princesse managed to delve back and touch that magical childhood awe and wonderment that I haven’t experienced in a looooong time. Thank you so much to Artichoke, La Machine and the Capital of Culture 08 team for bringing this amazing experience to Liverpool .

was very sceptical when we first heard of the event, seemed expensive for a piece of street theatre, but having seen it first hand i would like to say a heartfelt thank you to all at Le Machine! it will be remembered for years to come.Hope you enjoyed your stay in the friendliest and grandest city in the country and i can promise you a very warm welcome if you decide to return...ps, can we keep our Princess!!

We saw La Princess Friday, Saturday and Sunday and she was mesmerising. Great to see her amongst the buildings and see her scale. We’ve never seen so many people in the city enjoying themselves so she must be worth every penny. Thanks to everyone involved. Bravo - Magnifique!

I saw her only briefly - but she mistified, amazed, bedazzled and inspired.  She stayed only a while but I miss her already.  The city is somehow empty after her escape, but the whispers of her name and stories of her antics spreading like spun silk will make sure that the web she cast will entrap the city for a long time to come.

Wherever your final resting place La Princess - please consider coming home again!

It brought tears to my eyes reading all these comments. I’ve just got back to the Big Smoke, having spent the last two days following La Princesse around. Two years ago, the Sultan’s Elephant (and the little giant girl!) was the most magical, transcendent thing I had ever seen, and London seemed bereft after they had gone. I tried in vain to convey to friends, who had not been there how being sprayed with water from a mechanical trunk felt like receiving a blessing from heaven.
The spider was different, but truly fantastic - and it was such a pleasure, too, to see her in Liverpool and to see how much she meant to the people of this city. What an act of grace, from all who had the vision to conceive and fund this - a free gift to this city and this country of something truly life-enhancing. The way the vast crowd stood in silence to hear the harpist play after La Princesse had finally gone - who would have thought it? Thank you. This time, I didn’t get sprayed, but I managed to touch her foot!
